I get strange results with: v.8.08.2

Strange means that the threading doesn't work and the formatting is off. I wonder if it's the theme (Fiesta:Pro-Carbon) as opposed to the Deki version.

I downloaded a fresh copy of 9.02 Preview 3 VM. I then made sure the admin had unsafe content rights. Copied directly from the MindTouch template and pasted it into the VM copy. I also see the thread not indenting correctly and the formatting is off. I tried the same thing in the MindTouch sandbox and everything works correctly. I have some screen captures if interested. What could be wrong? edited 08:27, 19 Mar 2009

    Mcraven, Cornice & Beezoboy,

I didn't post the custom CSS that accompanies the script. I've added it the /code page at the bottom. Sorry for the forgetfullness.

OK, now it is getting interesting. I added the custom CSS to my 8.08.2 instance in the Content CSS section and now it works correctly. I added it to the Custom CSS section of my 9.02 Preview 3 and the fix does not work, i.e., the behavior is not changed. 8.08 had two CSS sections, one for the skin and a second for the content. 9.02 only has a singe CSS section. Any idea what is going on?

hmmm, I'm not sure. Let me look into it and see what I can find out.

Thank you for your assistance. The reason I am pursuing this is it is a feature I have been looking for. The existing Dekiscript solution while usable lacked the elegance of this implementation. One nice enhancement might be to display the date and time stamp for each entry, much as these comments do.

    Thanks,
    Mark C.

P.S. - I upgraded my Windows 2003 Test system and everything works Great. I paste the same template and CSS into the VM version and the formatting is all wrong.

P.P.S. - I rebooted my VM system and now it seems to be OK. Could it have something to do with caching? Also I have found out when you change the skin you need to reapply the custom CSS. edited 08:21, 31 Mar 2009

Any idea how to control the width and placement on the page? When Added to my page it spans the entire page width. I would like to lock it into the upper right hand corner. I can use a table to do this but if there is a better way I would like to know.

    Thanks

Is it just me or did the format of this get broken after the last upgrade? Did the custom CSS get reloaded?

@rberinger, I have this forum wrapped in a div that has a set width of 400px. As it is coded the forum will always take 100% width of the element it is placed in. You can also place it in a table, paragraph etc.

Any chance of adding a date and time stamp to each entry display? The information seems to be encoded in the data page.

    Does this still work?

This seems to work but it would be great if the user who generated the commment could modify and/or delete the comment they posted.

With IE7 and IE8, Response and Reply do not update after clicking submit. After closing and re-opening the page (or checking the data page), the data is there. I'm using 10.0.4 on a win2003 server.

It seems to work well, still... except that the postings are not shown in order. They appear in random order.
