When a file is deleted via Actions->Delete, it is moved into the recycling bin rather than being permanently deleted.  As a result, if you upload another file with the same name to the same page, the new filename will be appended with (1), (2), etc.  The unique filename ensures that older revisions of the file can still be restored.  If you want to permanently delete older revisions of the file:

  1. Login to your wiki as an Administrator
  2. Select Tools->Control Panel
  3. Navigate to Deleted Files
  4. Select the files you want to delete

Hello,
I got one question: How do I delete old versions of files and keep the newest ones? E.g. if storage gets full...

In the manual there is an "action" link behind every version (http://wiki.developer.mindtouch.com/@api/deki/files/493/=filesImages.png?size=webview)

On my system there is only on button for the newest version which deletes al versions. (Running MindTouch Deki Open Source Edition v.8.08.1a)

Any Ideas?

You'll need to download the newest version you wish to keep, then delete the existing stack of old version, and re-upload the version you had downloaded.

Thanks, I figured out that workaround in the meantime, too.
Is it a case of opensource vs. commercial version?
Are there any improvements planned?

It's a known chore and it will be addressed eventually. Though, I cannot say in what release.
