Profile memory usage on dev.mt.com

The dev.mt.com managed memory continues to grow at a rapid rate.  We need to identify the source of this "leak".  PeteE will install the large memory allocation profiler and see what kind of numbers we get.  PeteE will also investigate the possibility of capturing and replaying apache traffic on a dev machine to simulate some real-world traffic.

High number of timers

ArneC will investigate the high number of timers:

• fix GET:host/status/timers petee 22 December 2009 fixed by arnec in r17468
• change storage service to use a single timer

Gather Caching Data

MaxM and PeteE will put together some cache testing scenarios for different types of sites and profile performance of each cache type (none, request, instance)

Database Refactoring

We need to continue to identify any regressions that may have been caused by the database refactoring.

Service Startup

PeteE will test service startup/restart when server is under heavy load.

Lucene Service

PeteE will test "master" lucene service configuration when multiple boxes are in a cluster.

petee 22 December 2009 I tested this by launching 2 machines, running the index service on a single box, and specifying /indexer/@src.  Both index rebuilding and normal edits on either box works as expected.
