    Inserting a Link

    =media_1223337719174.png

If you want to insert a link in your MindTouch page, select the text that you want to link to, and then click the Link button. This will bring up the Link dialog, which opens in Search Mode; this looks within the wiki to see if there are any pages that are related to the text that you highlighted. As you can see in the following screen, it found one page called MindTouch.com that can be linked to. If you want to link to this, simply click the Update Link button and the link will be added.

    =media_1223337906332.png

If you want to link to the website http://www.mindtouch.com, put that in the Link to: field and then click the Update Link. This is demonstrated in the screen below:

    =media_1223338012752.png

If the page isn't listed in the matches and isn't an external link, then you'll have to navigate the entire wiki to find the page/file that you want to link to. You can do this by clicking the Browse tab and navigating through the wiki as seen in the following screen shot:

    =media_1223338163208.png

Note the Navigation on the Left hand side of the screen. These icons are as follows:

    1. This goes up one level from where you are at right now
    2. This returns to the top of the hierarchy
    3. This goes to the Home Page which offers you 3 areas you can drill into: a) The MindTouch Hierarchy b) User Pages c) Templates
    4. This goes to the logged in user's user page

If the page that you have selected looks good, it will show what you are linking to in the Link to: space above the navigation window. You can click Update Link and the Link will be inserted in the MindTouch page.

    Insert Image

If you want to insert an image into a MindTouch page, put your cursor where you want to insert the image on the page, and click the Image icon. This will open the image dialog in Browse mode which allows you to navigate through MindTouch's hierarchy and locate images to insert as seen in the following Screen shot.

    =media_1223338944162.png

You can navigate through MindTouch to find images to add to the page.

Once you've found the image that you want to insert into the page, select it. It will then show a thumbnail in the preview window on the right. You can then specify the image size and alignment of the image. When your image is ready, click Insert image and it will be inserted into your MindTouch page.

If you want to search MindTouch for an image, or insert an image that is externally hosted, click on the Search tab. Type the keyword you are searching for or the URI of the image you want to insert (as can be seen in the following screenshot):

    =media_1223339624603.png

Once you put the URI for the image in the Link to: field, you can specify the alignment and then click Insert image.

From here you can navigate through the available extensions and insert the desired extension. Once you have the URL of the media you want to embed, add it to the URL of media file and then click insert media. After clicking insert media, a Dekiscript line of Code will be added to the page where your cursor is and will look like this:

    2. Change the border size for the table, if you set it to 0 then there will be no border
    3. You can change the alignment of the table by clicking the dropdown and selecting Left, Right, or Center
    4. Width can be expressed by pixels or Percent. if you set it to 100% then it will expand to the full width of the MindTouch page
    5. Height can only be expressed in pixels. If left empty it will auto adjust according to the number of rows you have

    9. Summary is meta data for the table
    10. Once you have everything configured to your liking you can click OK and the table will be inserted

I cannot find how to import my own images to make my page. This is very confusing

Screen shots and information looks out of date. I needed to know how to link to a named anchor in the doc and this info didn't help me do that.

@sarah.lowe thanks for the feedback. Are you looking for a way to anchor link to a header (i.e. H1-H6 tagged content) or to an arbitrary anchor link in the page of your choosing?

Hi, Kelly. The MT toolbar lets me add an anchor (flag button), but we couldn't find out how to link to the named anchor after we added it. It looks like you can add a link to the current page URL + # + anchor name, but it's not very intuitive and didn't seem to be documented anywhere that I could find.

Can't find "how to create link to section on the same page"
    Posted 08:35, 8 Jul 2011
MT says: Once you've found the image that you want to insert into the page, select it. It will then show a thumbnail in the preview window on the right. You can then specify the image size and alignment of the image. When your image is ready, click Insert image and it will be inserted into your MindTouch page.

In my case, there was no thumbnail. In addition it said "no preview available." I can view the images with paint; why not here? What does that mean?

Hi, I am a nubee and this was my first request ever. I am only requesting for help. Please don't misunderstand me. Thanks.

Is it true that adding my own image to the page is a two step process? I must first ATTACH the image at the bottom of the page and then INSERT it into the place on the page where I want it to display. Can somebody please confirm?

@lhayes with MindTouch Core/Platform that is the case. With MindTouch TCS you can drag and drop the image onto the editor and it will upload and attach the file in one action. You can read more about MindTouch TCS here: http://www.mindtouch.com
