Community Scoring (Content Rating)

    Content Rating is a great new feature to ensure your pages are fresh and of relevance. Now, users can vote on the validity of the content within, and mark those which need revising appropriately.

    This box within MindTouch allows the user to vote for the current page. Note that a user must be logged in to rate the page.

    Clicking the "thumbs up" button will rate the page positively. After doing so, it will turn green.

    Clicking the thumbs down" button will rate the page negatively. After doing so, it will first prompt you for optional feedback as to how the page should be improved, and will then turn red. This information is then stored as a comment for an administrator to later review.

    There is also an additional option to rate at the bottom of each page.

    Since this only appears to actually function on the commercial version, it would be nice if this was noted on this page, and if it could be easily disabled in the Core since it just adds useless clutter and advertising.

    Does this tie into the search engine at all? In other words, if a page is rated highly does it turn up higher on the search results page?

    @bbugge - edit LocalSettings.php in the root of your wiki install and add the following line before the closing '?>' tag at the bottom of the file:

    $wgDisabledDekiPlugins[] = 'page_content_rating';
