    Templates

    Templates in MindTouch are pre-formed MindTouch pages that can in turn be inserted into a MindTouch page to give structure as far as the data that is added to the page. Templates in MindTouch are similar to Templates in Microsoft Office and Open Office, as it gives you a basis to build from. To view the Templates that are available in MindTouch, click Tools -> Templates:

    This will give you the a list of available Templates. If you have not added any Templates, or this is a new installation, then the Templates: page will not list any Templates. If you do have Templates, they will be listed as follows:

    If you want to add a new Template, click the New Page button. This will open a new blank page with Template: Page Title as the page title. The name of the Template is determined by replacing the Page Title with the name desired. If you overwrite the Template:, it will create a normal MindTouch page and it will not be able to be used as a Template in the system.

    After you name the Template and add the content, click Save:

    Once you click Save the Template, will be added to the list of available Templates that can then be invoked from the MindTouch editor. Check out the documentation on inserting a Template in MindTouch.

    @sst - if you want to pass arguments to a template you will have to use DekiScript. You can either use the wiki.template() function or you can reference the template as a function. For instance if the template was at /Template:MindTouch/Controls/goodTemplate then you can do the following:

    wiki.template("MindTouch/Controls/goodTemplate", args);

    If the template was at /Template:goodTemplate you could do this:

    goodTemplate(args);
