Attached files aren't being indexed

Overview

Files attached to MindTouch, where MindTouch is running on Debian/Ubuntu, aren't being indexed.  See list of supported file attachments. 

Symptoms

If you search for the contents of a file, it will not show in the search results.  

Resolution

Run the following command from the server shell where MindTouch is installed:

apt-get install wv unzip html2text poppler-utils ppthtml sun-java5-jre

After installation is complete rebuild the search index by going into the Control Panel -> Cache Management -> Rebuild Search Index
