Overview
If you install/upgrade MindTouch 2010/v.10 on Windows Server 2008 R2 your site will throw a site settings error when accessing MindTouch from the browser.
Symptoms
In the browser you will see a Site Settings error and if you look in the API log you will see the following error: "Access to the registry key 'Global' is denied."
Resolution
Fresh Install
If this is a fresh installation of MindTouch run the following command from the Windows command line:
net localgroup "Performance Monitor Users" MindTouch /add
Upgrade
If you upgraded from a previous version of MindTouch to 2010/v.10 and encounter the symptoms above do the following steps:
- Open IIS Manager
- Right click MindTouch app pool and choose "Advanced Settings"
- Under "Process Model" click the Identity box
- In the Build-in account dropdown, choose "Network Service"
- Click OK
