This walk-through, geared for beginners, will guide you through the steps to install MindTouch using our VMware image installation option using VirtualBox. VirtualBox is an open source alternative to VMware that is slightly easier to install.
After completing this tutorial you will have thr MindTouch VM up and running inside VirtualBox. This will allow you to run MindTouch in an isolated environment on your machine.

- Navigate to the Network tab.
- Next to "Attached to" select "Host-only Adapter".
- Next to "Name" "VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter" will appear automatically.
- NOTE: If you wish to run updates on your MindTouch VM it is important to enable a secondary network interface:
- In the above window click on the "Adapter 2". Enable the second Interface and Attach it to "NAT"

Now you can proceed with using MindTouch in an isolated environment on your computer.
Note that you cannot run update scripts from within the VM in "Host Only Adapter" networking mode. The VM cannot access the internet in this mode. If you wish to run update scripts then go to the networking settings of the MindTouch VM and switch the networking mode under "Attached to" to "Bridged Adapter". Under "Name" select the name of the network adapter that you are using to connect to the internet.
