Changing VMware from NAT to Bridged

By default the MindTouch Virtual Machine Appliance ships in NAT mode. This restricts access to the virtual machine to only the computer that it is hosted on. If you need to open the virtual machine to be accessed by other computers on your network then you will need to change it to Bridge Mode. To do so follow the steps below:

    =bridge1.png

In the bottom right corner of the virtual machine click on the icon that looks like 2 monitors on top of each other and then click Settings... This will then load the next screen. Click on the Bridged radio button and then click OK.

Once you have done this then restart your Virtual Machine by clicking on the VM menu at the top of the Screen and then Power and then Reset. Your Virtual MAchine will then restart and when it finishes loading there will be a new IP address listed that you can access from on your network. Note that this is a Dynamic IP address and if you need to configure the Virtual Machine to be static, follow the instructions here.
