Can I use the Desktop Suite with my Trial?
Yes. The Desktop Suite will work with any licensed MindTouch install, including Trials. But it will not work with the community edition (MindTouch Core)!
What are Minimum System Requirements for Desktop Suite?
The MindTouch Desktop Suite are supported on the following OSs
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Server 2008
Can the Desktop Suite be installed on Mac or Linux?
Not at this time.
What does the Desktop Suite do?
The Desktop Suite includes 3 connectors:
- Microsoft Word Connector - Allows one click publishing of Microsoft Word Documents to MindTouch page, along with attaching embeded images to the Mindtouch page
- Microsoft Outlook Connector - Allows one click publishing of Outlook emails to a MindTouch page, along with attaching email attachments to the MindTouch page
- Windows Desktop Connector - Allows you to connect to your MindTouch install and create pages, drag and drop files onto pages, and allows you to drag and drop a folder structure and have MindTouch create a hierarchy based on it and attach the files from the folders to their respective pages
What versions of Microsoft Office is the Desktop Suite Compatible with?
The MindTouch Desktop suite is compatible with Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007

Solutions to Error Messages
There are various reasons you may get an error message while installing the MindTouch Desktop Suite. Below are solutions to problems you may encounter.
"Server did not return license information for http://dekilocation"
If you receive the error "Server did not return license information for http://dekilocation", check your license for your MindTouch and make sure you have applied an Enterprise or Trial License to it.
"Server hostname 'dekilocation' does not match any of the licensed hostname(s): 'list of deki hostnames'"
If you receive the error "Server hostname 'dekilocation' does not match any of the licensed hostname(s): 'list of deki hostnames'", login to the MindTouch Support Portal and submit a case to get an updated Enterprise License.
"Server license expired on 'Date' "
This means that your Trial or Enterprise license has expired, contact MindTouch to renew your license or to purchase one.
"401 error Unathorized"
This most likely is a misconfiguration on the server side related to the permissions on the api directly. Specifically verify on Windows that Anonymous access is enabled in IIS
How do I uninstall the Desktop Suite?
First you should close all office programs (Outlook and Word) and then use the link 'Uninstall MindTouch Desktop Suite' in your Start Menu to uninstall Desktop Suite.
Error 2738
At least you can uninstall all components by running the setup process again and coosing 'Change' as your wished installation option. There you can deselect 'MindTouch Desktop Connector', 'Microsoft Outlook Connector' and 'Microsoft Word Connector' (Entire feature will be unavailable) and continue with the (un)installation process.
