Enabling E-Mail Notification Upon Account Creation In Windows 2003

Select Component Class

1. Click Application Server.
2. Click Details.

Select Service

1. Select Internet Information Services (IIS).
2. Click Details.

Add SMTP Service Component

1. Check the box next to SMTP Service.
2. Click OK.

Finish the SMTP Installation

1. Click OK until you get back to the Windows Component Wizard main screen. Click Next.

Configure the SMTP Server

1. Inside of the IIS Services Manager, right-click on Default SMTP Virtual Server, and click Properties.

Enable Anonymous Access

1. Click the Access tab, and make sure "Anonymous access" is checked. Click Ok.

Enable Localhost Relay

1. Click Relay, and click Add...
2. In the IP Address box, type in 127.0.0.1. This will permit e-mail relaying from the localhost.
3. Click Ok all the way out of the SMTP Virtual Server Properties.

Add the SMTP Server to LocalSettings.php
