VMware converter will be the instrumental tool that we will use to migrate the VM from the computer to the ESX server. To get started, download the VMware converter software from the VMware Website. Once you have it downloaded, start it up. This will show you the following screen:

From here, click on File -> New -> Convert... which will present you with the following screen:

Select VMware Workstation or other VMware virtual machine from the drop down. Then click Browse and navigate to the .vmx file for your MindTouch Virtual Machine. Once you have selected it, click Next. This will then present you with the following screen:

Select VMware Infrastructure virtual machine from the destination type drop down. You can then enter the Server IP of your ESX server and the login credentials for it. Once you have those credentials, click Next. You will then see the following screen:

Name the virtual machine, specify the datastore, and click Next. This will then present the following screen:

On this page you can customize the virtual machine, like increasing the Memory and number of NICs applied to the VM. If the defaults are fine, click Next. This will then present you with the following screen:

If everything looks correct with the summary, click the Finish button. This will then close the dialog and revert back to the main Converter screen where you can track the progress of the conversion by looking at the Status section:

Once the status reaches 100%, you will be able to go to your ESX server and see the VM in your list of VMs.
