Windows MSI 404 Troubleshooting

    Windows MSI 404 Troubleshooting

If you encounter a 404 error for your MindTouch install natively on Windows first check that MindTouch is running in IIS. You may need to restart IIS. Also check and confirm that MindTouch isn't being blocked by your firewall. If these don't help take a look at the following troubleshooting steps.

    Running .NET 3.5

If you are running .NET 3.5 and encountered a 404 error, do the following steps to make sure that it is configured correctly. Open up the IIS Manager and click on Web Service Extensions. Next make sure that ASP.NET v2.0.50727 is Allowed. If it isn't allowed then click on it and then select Allow as seen in the following screen shot

This will then set the status for ASP.NET v2.0.50727 to Allowed. Then visit your MindTouch site in a browser and confirm that it loads without the error
